Terms of Service
Effective 20 April 2026
These terms are a legal agreement between you (“Customer”, “you”) and Ignisfox (“we”, “us”) for use of ignisfox.com and the Ignisfox service. By creating an account or using the service, you accept these terms. If you’re signing up on behalf of an organisation, you represent you have authority to bind it.
1. The service
Ignisfox is a hosted SSL / TLS certificate management platform. It lets you store encrypted certificate material, monitor hostname expiry, issue and renew certs from public Certificate Authorities (including Let’s Encrypt and ZeroSSL), pull certs from supported paid CAs, and push renewed certs to your servers.
We provide free anonymous tools (SSL Check, PFX Converter, Chain Validator, Certificate Transparency Search) that don’t require an account. These are offered “as is” and may change or go away without notice.
2. Your account
To use the full service you create an account. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your sign-in credentials secret. We encourage TOTP multi-factor authentication on every account.
- Any activity taken under your account, including members you invite to your tenant.
- Keeping your contact email current so we can reach you about security issues, expiring certs, and billing.
You must be at least 16 years old. If we suspect your account is being used for abuse (spam, fraud, illegal content, attempts to compromise other customers), we may suspend or terminate it.
3. Plans, billing, and trials
The service is offered on a free tier and paid tiers (see /pricing). Paid tiers are billed monthly in advance via Stripe.
Paid plans include a 14-day free trial. You can cancel during the trial and you won’t be charged.
After the trial, your payment method is charged at the beginning of each billing cycle. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current cycle; you keep access through then and your tier reverts to Free automatically. We do not issue refunds for partial months except where required by law.
We may change prices or plan features with at least 30 days’ notice by email or in-app notice. If you don’t like the change, you can cancel before it takes effect.
4. Your content
“Your Content” means everything you upload or generate in the service: certificates, private keys, PFX bundles, monitored hostnames, push-target configurations, DNS and CA credentials, feedback, etc.
You keep all rights to Your Content. You grant us a limited licence to store it, encrypt it, and process it as necessary to provide the service (e.g. running TLS probes on the hostnames you submit, sending a renewed cert to a push target you configured).
You confirm you have the right to upload and use Your Content — you own the certificates or have permission from the owner, you operate the hostnames you monitor, and you have authority to use the CA/DNS credentials you give us.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the service to attack, probe, or scan systems you don’t have permission to test.
- Use the service for phishing, fraud, distributing malware, or hosting illegal content.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service beyond what open-source licences allow.
- Resell, rebrand, or white-label the service without our written permission.
- Exceed the rate limits or caps on your plan through circumvention.
- Interfere with other customers’ use of the service.
We enforce rate limits on public tools to discourage abuse; hitting them returns HTTP 429.
6. Our stuff (intellectual property)
The service — the software, UI, brand, documentation, and the Ignisfox name and logo — is our property. You get a licence to use it while your account is in good standing; nothing in these terms transfers ownership.
7. Service availability
We aim for high availability and make reasonable efforts to keep the service running. Planned maintenance is announced in advance; unplanned outages are acknowledged on our status channels (email / in-app) as soon as we have useful information.
Enterprise tier customers can negotiate an SLA as part of their contract. Other tiers are offered without an availability guarantee.
8. Third-party certificates + CAs
When you ask us to issue a cert from Let’s Encrypt, ZeroSSL, or any other Certificate Authority, your request is governed by that CA’s subscriber agreement. We pass your request along; we aren’t the CA and can’t guarantee issuance, revocation, or the CA’s own policies.
The same applies when we push a certificate to a push target you configured — the target’s policies and uptime aren’t under our control.
9. Security + confidentiality
We implement the technical and organisational measures described in our Privacy Policy: per-tenant envelope encryption, TLS in transit, access controls, audit logging, and regular security review. Nothing is perfectly secure; you remain responsible for your own end-to-end security hygiene (strong passwords, MFA, not sharing credentials, etc.).
If you find a security issue, please email security@ignisfox.com before public disclosure. We credit reporters in our fix notes.
10. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Profile → Danger Zone. Deletion is permanent after a short grace window.
We can suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these terms (abuse, non-payment, illegal use), with notice where practical. On termination, the licence to use the service ends immediately; you can export your data until the account is fully purged.
11. Disclaimer
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties (express, implied, statutory), including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, and uninterrupted operation. Your use of the service is at your own risk.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will our aggregate liability under these terms exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim (or USD 100 if that amount is less). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages (including lost profits or data).
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Ignisfox against claims arising from your breach of these terms, your violation of the law, or your use of the service in a way that harms another party — except to the extent caused by our own wrongdoing.
14. Changes to these terms
We update these terms when the service changes. Material changes get at least 30 days’ notice by email or in-app banner. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new version.
15. Governing law + disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts, unless a mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction requires a different forum.
